November's Themes             

 

  Tiny Town                 

1. A town is thought of as larger than a village but smaller than a city.

2. Every job and every worker is important and has important tasks .

3. Many jobs require special training or school.

4. Many jobs require specific hats, uniforms, tools and equipment.

5. Sometimes the special hats or uniform protect the workers' clothes, keep them safe, tell what they do, hold their tools or keep there clean.

6. Some jobs require the use of special vehicles, such as a fire track, police car, ambulance, garbage track, mail track, taxi, bus, construction vehicle, etc .

       Pecan Pie

1. Pecans grow on trees.

2. Pecan trees grow between 65 and 130 feet tall.

3. The nut is considered the "fruit" of the tree.

4. Pecans can be eaten fresh as well as used for cooking.

5. Peanuts are not a nut; they are part of the legume family, which also includes beans and peas.

6. The shell of peanut grow underground.

7. Nut allergies and peanut allergies are separate allergies, but many doctors recommend not eating either even if you are only allergic to one.

8. Squirrels are usually born in the early spring.  

9. Squirrels are solitary animals but will let others into their den if it is very cold out.

10. Squirrels eat seeds, nuts, fruits and berries.

11. A squirrel will chew on a small tree branch to clean and sharpen his teeth.
